The visitors can learn about agriculture and product processing. The community leaders in Paseyawor Sub-district are gathered to build up career for villagers to work in their hometown, to reduce expenses and to bring love and harmony to the community.
Sam Pleemor Homestay, the tourism community enterprise managed by people in the community in Paseyawor Sub-district, Sai Buri District, Pattani Province, was originated from collaboration of local people. Its beginning was to connect learning based in local area, which is a model sub-district in multicultural development. At present, Sam Pleemor Homestay is a landmark of Sai Buri District, and it has been operated for 5 years. Apart from learning center and recreational spot of local people, it is also a getaway for tourists who travel to admire and embrace the living way of Sai Buri people.
Mr. Donya Salaemae, the president of Sam Pleemor Tourism Community Enterprise, talked about concepts of constructing the network and extending to tourism community that the tourism community enterprise was initiated from working for community development with cooperation of the community. The village public forum was organized, and villagers brainstormed about what social capital and potential the company has to develop the areas such as beautiful beaches, swamp tea forest, sand ridge. Rice farm, Dusong park and Paseyawor Canal with distance of 2 kilometers. It also has seashore resources as fertile food capital, that has not been developed as a tourist attraction and extensively publicized. Sam Pleemor Homestay is an elevated traditional wooden house with necessary facilities as a link with tourist to approach communities leading to income distribution in the community. The housewives cook food, grow vegetables, make dessert and open small shops in the communities.
Before being the tourism community enterprise group, doing activities in the area was personal business that most villagers in the area have not been given a chance and not participated in using resources for overall economic benefits to the community Therefore, it comes with an idea to develop activities based on context of community living way, and groups are formed, that it is the origin of learning base network in Paseyawor Sub-district. Sam Pleemor Homestay then was originated from the concept of being a center of income distribution to different groups in the community. Comprehensive tourism packages and accommodations are provided to support tourists. It is located in Ban Bon area, Paseyawor Sub-district. Apart from Sam Pleemor, Ban Bon is also the location of Kampong Atas Mosque, which is ancient wooden mosque with age more than 70 years
Local fishery village, Patabara Village: it is a seashore village where tourists can learn how to do local fishery, go fishing, catching squids and buying souvenirs from raw material processing groups such as dried fish group, Krue Po or fresh fish cracker group. It is community industry that brings million Baht/ month of income. Factory’s income helps employees who are mostly locals and helps society such as orphans, poor people, Tadika School, and mosque in the village
Fishing Boat Artisan Village and Paseyawor Village: Korlae boat is a unique fishing boat of people in Pattani and Narathiwat. Its ends are spike with big size as the real fishing boat and small size as a model that tourists buy as a souvenir. Korlae Boat building proficiency of Paseyawor Village is widely accepted in aspect of meticulousness with combined patterns between Thai and Muslim arts. It is not only Korlae Boat that is famous in the village, but Budo from Paseyawor Village also tastes delicious. Saiburi Batik Group is located in this village too. For tourist attractions in the village, there is Wat Thamphawas where “Luang Por Sila”, marble Buddha Image created in the reign of King Rama 6, is situated.
Kampong Kitchen and Agricultural Savings Community Enterprise and Floating shop in Thungkej Village It is a village far from seashore where many strong groups are located such as agricultural savings group and floating shop, operated from gathering shares from members for savings and purchasing products that the member need by installment until profit is generated. After that, it is used to expand the business of Kampong Kitchen, a community restaurant that supports customers and tourists and cooks food for Sam Pleemor Homestay.
Sufficiency agriculture learning center, Baloh Village: from sandy soil where only coconut trees could grow, it was developed and improved to be an area for agriculture such as vegetables that are delivered to Sai Buri Market and outstanding processed agricultural products i.e. pickled vegetables, grown by the villagers in empty space of coconut farm. It is processed and sold in bazaar in Sai Buri District so that people can earn a living with no need to work outside.
Malayu Rice Noodle Group (Lasor Lasae), Lum Village: Lasor is food made of flour or rice noodle which looks like common rice noodles and its flour is squeezed through a mold in hot water while Lasae is rice noodle in round shape cooked by steaming. When cooked, it is rolled as a long straw and sliced in bite-size pieces, consumed with curry, crab curry and curry with coconut milk.
Key of success in work operation of Paseyawor Community is participation in activities in the area and interaction of people in the community as well as finding mutual issues about their real life to define and take actions for the community to be prosperous, stable and sustainable.
