From the situation of COVID-19 outbreak, spreading all over the world, it is unpredictable about when it ends. The difficulties in solving COVID problems are how to find a balnaced point between disease control and eonomic support. People in the three southern-border provinces are affected by this situation not less than others from diffierent parts of Thailand. People in the three-southern borders need to migrated back from working in neighboring countries like Malaysia, and that the government is required to control the outbreak of this virus together with providing a measure of economic remedy for people who are unemployed with no income.
In this situation, the governmnet and private sectors collaborate to integrate their operations in helping those who are physically or economically affected that they are uneemployed during COVID-19 situation. The Ministry of Labor has a remedial measure for people affected by COVID by launching an employment project to solve occupation issues for the affected persons by allocating budget for 30 million Baht to hire labors in 18 provinces. It is the employment in the project of 30 anti-COVID farms.
The recruitmnet of participants in the anti-COVID farm project is performed by the public health volunteers in each village, who have information of every household and survey those who are temporarily affected in term of occupation by COVID situation. They need to return hometown from working upcountry or abroad and have no work support or have economic difficulties, and they are ready to work in farms.
Anti-COVID 19 farm project is the integrated operation of every sector to help people who are affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 for highest benefits to local people. They will have an occupation and earn income during the outbreak and more than that, they can extend knowlege about agriculture from the model farms and labors will realize importance of development for self-reliance.
operation of anti-COVID 19 farm project in Yala covers in 2 areas including the model farm under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother at Wang Phaya- Tha Thong, Raman District, Yala Province and the sufficiency economy village and model farm project under Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother in Betong Sub-district, Betong District, Yala Province. 55 persons were employed with daily wage of 300 Baht. They work for 60 days with 6 workdays and a holiday/ week.
Those selected to work in the anti-COVID farm project will receive money to mitigate difficulties and gain argicultural knowledge in form of Khok Nong Na Model by applying the concept of “New-theory agriculture” and the philosophy of sufficieny economy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej with soil improvement, and plant cultivation to suit landscape and society for fully effective area management.
